Jen Bekman Projects | Photography Competition Manager

Jen Bekman Projects is looking for an art-world-savvy marketing professional to run Hey, Hot Shot!, our critically acclaimed, international photography competition. We are seeking a leader who has a demonstrated ability to generate grass-roots interest in an endeavor and can engage the photographic and fine art communities. He or she should know their way around the online art world—including magazines, blogs and galleries—and have experience marketing to those communities. The competition thrives as a venue for showcasing and supporting new, mid-career and established artists.

To bolster our resources for these artists, HHS! must also grow fiscally. The competition's success is integral to our operations and goals. The candidate must have a proven track record of managing projects, from inception to completion, and show experience meeting revenue targets. This is a great opportunity to help further our mission of supporting artists while utilizing strong business and marketing skills.

Who We Are

"Live with art, it's good for you" is the philosophy that drives Jen Bekman Projects (JBP). Based in NYC, we use the power of the internet to bring the value and joy of collecting art to a wider audience than has ever been possible. JBP consists of three programs: 20x200 is an innovative website that offers curated, limited-edition prints at affordable prices. Hey, Hot Shot! is a critically acclaimed international photography competition that discovers, recognizes, and promotes photographers at all stages of their careers. Jen Bekman Gallery, the flagship of JBP, exhibits photography, works on paper, paintings, and mixed media.

The Job

  • In a nutshell: manage the Hey, Hot Shot! photography competition, two rounds annually.
  • Grow the competition's reputation as an international, critically acclaimed venue for showcasing new and established artists.
  • Develop and implement new strategies for marketing the competition.
  • Engage the photography and fine art communities.
  • Oversee the development of a related website.
  • Organize related events.
  • Forge partnerships relevant to the competition.

The Person We're Looking For

  • Is actively engaged in the fine art and photographic communities.
  • Has proven experience conducting online marketing and implementing creative marketing solutions for a well-regarded, existing brand.
  • Is extremely knowledgeable about (or prepared for deep immersion in) the photography and fine art world.
  • Is resourceful and flexible.
  • Has a way with words—in email, on the phone, and of course, in person!
  • Is extremely internet savvy and has an active online presence.
  • Thrives in a high-activity, fast-paced environment.
  • Is in New York. Tele-commuting is not an option.
