Happy Tuesday collectors! It's Sara today with lots of updates and great art for you. We're releasing three prints from Paul Madonna in celebration of last Friday's opening of Mixtape. Album 1, Balsa planes #3 and Balsa planes #4 have all been on view over at 6 Spring Street since Friday. Sneaky, huh. Little did all the opening-goers, artists and revelers know that Paul's prints, sweetly hung among the forty-six works that make up the show, would be available today, right here, right now! And, a lucky ten of you will be able to pick up an 8"x10" print for 10 bucks! Seriously. $10!

Regular readers of Paul's strip, Small Potatoes, over on The Rumpus were tipped off about today's easter egg and the chance to take home a little Paul Madonna for an Alexander Hamilton. Be among the first 10 collectors to email us at easteregg AT 20x200 DOT com with the correct answer to this question and get your print for $10:

Who wrote the hit 80s song that the Small Potatoes want readers to have stuck in their heads from the November 14th strip?

I'll give you one hint: the song and the artist were probably not ever featured on one of those plastic Fisher Price records painted in Album 1. Those discs held the likes of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, if my memory serves correct. While my little sister and I outgrew the player quickly, our love of airplanes remained, spawned partly by those Balsa planes and a family obsessed with flight. The toys are nostalgic relics, yes, but here Paul's instilled these objects with a very adult sense of all of the ways we struggle to find which way is up, as grown-ups. It's not as easy to launch ourselves out into space as those Balsa planes once made us believe.

I happened upon these toy planes again most recently at Electric Works, the gallery/bookshop/print-publishing phenom of San Francisco. Fittingly enough, this is the very same spot that Paul's work is currently on view on the left coast.

If you're here or there, you have no excuse: go see Paul's work. If you're slow or just-plain not so great with 80s music and you miss out on one of the $10 steals, swing by the JB gallery and Jeffrey will help you find some great art, framed and ready-to-give, just because it's that time of year.

Two more notes for you!
1) Sorry to say, we won't be in your inbox tomorrow. We're taking the day off to ready ourselves for feasting and giving thanks on Thursday. But we'll be back on Friday with a snowy edition from a photographer who is known for creating narratives in his prints and in his titles. Hint, hint!
2) Like Paul's prints, we'll be unrolling a few more editions from Mixtape artists. Browse the gallery walls to see who may be on deck next!
