Please join us at the gallery tonight, Friday, January 15th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. for the opening of What You're Told, six paintings on canvas and eleven works on paper by the lovely three-time edition-maker Clare Grill. We released a The Overachievers earlier this week*, and the original painting on which the print is based is part of the new show.

We've been eagerly anticipating sharing Clare's work with you since the idea first came up last year, so we are beyond excited that the day is finally here. And, as we've said before (and you can see for yourself), there is no match to seeing Clare's paintings in-person. The layers of paint are dense with a luscious texture that suggests the canvas has just barely dried. The works tap into what Jen called "those mysterious years of childhood," full of self-awareness as well as great sentimentality.

So without further ado, we hope to see you at the JBG tonight!
