ARTIST STATEMENT

This is a painting of my fingerprint.

I paint intuitively, not thinking of the finished painting. I paint until something clicks and I know it’s done. I paint on many paintings at the same time; each one influences the one next to it. Working this way, I layer the paint and imagery on each painting. With the paintings in this series, I layered abstract imagery and recognizable images to create a simple story.

These prints are created using archival pigment inks on 100% cotton rag paper with a matte finish.

Our quoted dimensions are for the size of paper containing the image, not the printed image itself. We do not alter the aspect ratio, nor do we crop or resize the artists’ originals. All of our prints have a minimum border of .5 inches to allow for framing.

Note: this is a square image so there will be large white borders on two sides of the print.
