Chateau Pool

ARTIST STATEMENT

I am interested in photographs as documents; in this case I was very interested in the notion of a subjective document. I wanted to get to the bottom of what I wanted from the landscape, and I wanted a record of it.

I thought to explore the relationship between landscapes and emotion, specifically desire. I knew, however, I did not want the specificity of a portrait. I wanted to get to the viscera of the landscape, to approach it from an inappropriate distance; I wanted it to be unreliable.
