ARTIST STATEMENT

I started Obsessive Consumption in 2002, when I decided to photograph all of my purchases and, in turn, created a brand out of the process to package and promote. I am currently hand-drawing all of my credit card statements until they are paid off, drawing something I purchase every day and continuing to make piles of work (zines! pillows! photographs! buttons! more drawings!).

The drawings in this edition document the things that I bought over the course of one week, two weeks, one month and four months in the summer of 2009.

Edition of 200: One Week

Edition of 20: One Month
The image featured below is the $200.00 (20″×16″) edition and illustrates one month of purchases made by the artist. Click on the thumbnail below to see a larger view.

The largest print in this edition, April, May, June, July 2009, is 30″×24″ and features all of Kate Bingaman-Burt’s purchases during those months and is $1000. View Now.

These prints are created using archival pigment inks on 100% cotton rag paper with a matte finish.

Our quoted dimensions are for the size of paper containing the images, not the printed image itself. We do not alter the aspect ratio, nor do we crop or resize the artists’ originals. All of our prints have a minimum border of .5 inches to allow for framing.

We recommend a custom frame in black solid wood with UV protected plexiglass and a white archival mat. Please note: Framed art may take up to 4 weeks to ship. Available for U.S. orders only.
