ARTIST STATEMENT

I have photographed Junk Drawers on and off since 2000. My work explores the persistent mark of individuality in a culture that brands, packages and relentlessly promotes conformity. Even among those who attempt to fit into society, individuals reveal an amazing wealth of information in nearly private spaces, such as junk drawers and medicine cabinets. The revelation of these near-private spaces forces the viewer to contend with the natural desire of humans to collect and categorize, while giving clues about the owner’s personality and identity.

These prints are created using archival pigment inks on 100% cotton rag paper with a luster finish.

Our quoted dimensions are for the size of paper containing the images, not the printed image itself. We do not alter the aspect ratio, nor do we crop or resize the artists’ originals. All of our prints have a minimum border of .5 inches to allow for framing.

We recommend a custom frame in black solid wood with UV protected plexiglass and a white archival mat. Please note: Framed art may take up to 4 weeks to ship. Available for U.S. orders only.

  • 10"x8" print offered in 14"x16.5" frame (3/4” front profile x 3/4” side profile)
  • 14"x11" print offered in 16.5"x19.5" frame (3/4” front profile x 3/4” side profile)
  • 20"x16" print offered in 22.5"x27.5" frame (3/4” front profile x 3/4” side profile)
  • 40 x 30 print is dry mounted and framed to the image (3/4” front profile x 2” side profile), with spacers and enhanced UV plexi glass
