Born 1972, in Mobile Alabama, Chris Ballantyne moved around the US for most of his early life in a Coast Guard family. Graduating with a BA in painting and drawing from the University of South Florida and an MFA degree from the San Francisco Art Institute, Chris has exhibited at such places as Peres Projects, Los Angeles and Berlin, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, and recently at Hosfelt Gallery in San Francisco. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
