Curtis Mann earned an MFA from Columbia College in Chicago in 2008 and received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Dayton in 2002. His recent work helped him receive SPE’s top student award, the Crystal Apple in 2006, a Follett full tuition fellowship from Columbia College Chicago, three Albert P. Weisman Memorial Project Grants and nomination for the Santa Fe Award for 2007.
Curtis was included in a group show at the Silverstein Photography Gallery in New York in Fall 2007, is part of the traveling exhibition “Are We There yet” curated by Dawoud Bey, recently opened a four person show “Strange Habit” curated by Luke Batten at I Space in Chicago and is included in the concurrent New York Photo Festival as part of Lesley Martin’s The Ubiquitous Image. He was featured in an issue of Foam Magazin based in the Netherlands.
Curtis will be participating in The Solo Project with Kusseneers Galerie from Belgium, coinciding with Art Basel in Switzerland this June 2-8. He was also recently selected for The Magenta Foundation’s Emerging Photographers Competition titled Flash Forward 2008.
