Through his books, photographs, and camera obscura installations, Luke continually seeks to understand images and their full range of capabilities as measures of time, keepers of memory and conveyors of information.

Following undergraduate degrees in history and American studies, Luke attended the Photographic Center Northwest, earning a certificate in fine art photography. From there it was on to the Visual Studies Workshop, where he completed his Master of Fine Arts degree in late 2007.

Luke’s artwork has been widely exhibited and can be found in the collections of the University of the Arts, the Pratt Institute and the Cleveland Institute of Art, among others. His arts writing has been seen in Afterimage: The Journal of Media Arts and Cultural Criticism, the City newspaper (Rochester, New York), and at his blog, Touching Harms the Art.
