Rubi Lebovitch was born in Jaffa, Israel, in 1974. He studied photography at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, and his work has been shown both nationally and internationally. While primarily focusing on photography, his projects have featured installations, as well.
In 2011, Rubi had solo exhibitions in Gallery 39 for Contemporary Art and the Janco-Dada Museum. After participating in FotoFest Paris in November 2010, Rubi was included in a group show at the Corden|Potts Gallery in San Francisco and reviewed in Korea’s Monthly Photography magazine. Rubi’s work has been widely exhibited, with several pieces in public and private collections. Honors include the Japan Media Arts Festival prize and CENTER’S Honorable Mention.
