Jaclyn Mednicov was born and raised just outside of Chicago, IL. She studied painting and sculpture at the University of Kansas, where she received her BFA. During her undergraduate studies, Jaclyn also attended Parsons School of Design in New York for a summer drawing program, and the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, for a semester abroad.

After graduating in the fall of 1999, Jaclyn moved from Kansas to Los Angeles, where she continued her art practice at a studio in Santa Monica and fulfilled several large commissions. She resided there for two years before transplanting herself to New York.

Jaclyn has exhibited in numerous national galleries in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and the Sera Davis Showroom in Nashville, TN. In 2007, she completed her first residency at Vermont Studio Center in Johnson City, VT, which initiated a significant transformation in her art. Jaclyn’s most recent series consists of intimate linear drawings on paper and paintings on plexiglass that express the struggle of nature versus humanity. Jaclyn currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
