I grew up in a very chaotic house. It's probably affected the way I take pictures. Often, one of the things I try to do is find calm amidst the chaos, to simplify things. To me, a good photograph works on many levels. It should be interesting to look at and hopefully have some sort of social context. It should make you think, even if momentarily.
These cityscapes, for me, are quite interesting in that there is a lot to see but at the same time they are simple and geometric. From the perspective found in these photographs, there is a sense of monotony in both structure and tone. I like how different cities seem to have their own colors. I'm interested in how these photographs show on a grand scale, the way people choose or are forced to live.
