The Leg Series is an investigation of the body and how it reads when one select part of it is shown. I come from a performance background and used the body as a whole in my past work. I was interested in finding spaces connected to me and placing myself in them. I did not want to change anything in the environment- I simply found a space and placed myself in it. These are snapshots.
The Office is where I use to work; the outfit was one that the we had just finished for a burlesque competition. I was staying late to pack this job and the combination of the two elements-office and costume struck me as odd. Is this the morning after from the office party, laying down on the job, the portrayal of devastation or the cartoonish death of the wicked witch of the west? As I continue on with this series I always choose spaces from my life and clothing that is on hand. For me it is nothing to do with staging but a continuation of exploring the body in found space. Although personal in creation- this series acts as film stills in a way because the photos are so ambiguous of what went on.

Our quoted dimensions are for the size of paper containing the images, not the printed image itself. We do not alter the aspect ratio, nor do we crop or resize the artists' originals. All of our prints have a minimum border of .5 inches to allow for framing.
The artist specified particularly generous borders for this print. The actual image size on the 8x10 print for example is roughly 5x7.
