Manshroom

I am interested in the idea of artist as mad scientist. My drawings and collages offer visual hypotheses to the question: what would happen if the DNA sequences of humans, plants, and mushrooms were spliced with each other? Using graphite, watercolor, walnut ink, and collaged paper, I create hybrid creatures: wolves morphed with women; mushrooms morphed with men; and sheep morphed with branches, trees, and blossoms. These phenomena are my interpretation of the perversion of the natural world wrought by genetic engineering and mutation gone awry.
Manshroom The edition of 200 and 20 are archival ink prints. The original artwork from which these prints were produced is a collage on paper.
