I live in New York City, can I go by Jen's gallery and pick up the print in person?

20x200 prints are not kept in the gallery's inventory. We do love visitors at Jen Bekman Gallery though, so do drop in!)

Small prints are never on site - they ship from a separate location. With advance notice and a scheduled appointment, we're sometimes able to have medium and/or large prints at the gallery for interested collectors. Please send an email to collector AT 20x200 DOT com if you'd like to see one of our larger editions in person.

Why should I sign up for the newsletter?

Most newsletters go out before the print is available on the site, and allow you to buy prints before they are available to the general public. Especially for fast selling edition, this is the best way of getting a shot at grabbing one before it sells out.

How come I can't combine my orders and have several prints shipped together?

In order to keep costs down we have a distributed just in time inventory system - prints often ship from different locations, on different time lines and ship immediately. Combining orders with this type of system is always complicated and often impossible. Also keep in mind that our prints are limited editions, and therefore irreplaceable if they are lost or damaged in transit. One lost print is a heart breaker. Several lost prints, all at once? Disaster!

What's an edition?

An edition is a limited run of a particular piece of artwork. Artists and their publishers and/or dealers agree to, set and honor edition sizes. Once an edition is closed, it's closed forever. Images offered for sale on 20x200 are available exclusively through us.

How are your prints made?

The artists we collaborate with use a variety of high quality printing processes including optical c-prints, digital-c prints, archival ink prints, letterpress, hand inked prints, etc. Each print process is noted on the print's page and your packing slip will include detailed information about the specific print you've bought.

How do I know that my 20x200 print is authentic?

Each print comes with a signed and numbered 20x200 Certificate of Authenticity. The certificate is printed on archival paper and signed and numbered by the artist. Using Certificates, rather than having the prints directly signed, minimizes the handling of the actual prints to guard against possible damage.

How do you ship your prints?

Our small prints are put in protective sleeves and shipped in sturdy cardboard envelopes. Larger prints are usually shipped in tubes. Want your larger prints shipped flat? We can do it! What if a print gets damaged during shipping?

We pack our prints with extra care, doing our best to ensure that they won't be damaged, and all packages are labeled with special handling intructions. If you're buying a small print, we strongly recommend choosing to have your print shipped via Priority Mail, which provides tracking. Medium and Large sized prints are shipped priority with tracking and are also insured.

In the unfortunate event that a print is damaged, keep in mind that it's the buyer's responsibility to follow-up on and file the insurance claim. As prints are limited editions, we can't replace damaged prints after a run has sold out.

Do artists benefit from sales?

We split profits evenly with artist minus production costs.

Do you have copyright or creative commons licenses on these prints?

All rights are controlled by the artists who created the prints. Note that copyright law states that copyright is not transferred to the buyers of either prints or original artworks.

My thumbnails are looking blocky is this a bug?

This is a Windows issue and we are working to resolve it . In the meantime to see everything normally go to Tools-Internet Options, move to the Advanced tab, and uncheck "Enable Automatic Image Resizing" under Multimedia.

Bonus question: What's an Artist Proof or AP?

APs are a fixed number of extra prints, outside of the set edition. These are generally not meant to be sold, but rather kept by the artist and/or the publisher. At 20x200, we have an inventory of APs that we share with the artist. There are a maximum of 20 of the smallest size, 4 of the medium size and 2 of the large size.

Why does the site look wonky?

The vast majority of reports of website issues come from the increasingly tiny number of holdouts using very old and crufty browsers. These browsers include Netscape 4, Internet Explorer 5, Internet Explorer for the Mac, The Comcast Browser etc. All these browsers are all terribly out of date as most were last refreshed in 2001. Our suggestion is to do yourself a favor and download a modern up to date browser like Firefox, Explorer 7, or Safari. All are free for the taking. You'll thank us, we promise.

Why do the inventory numbers fluctuate so wildly sometimes?

There are a few things that happen which affect the inventory numbers:

- The most common occurrence: someone presses buy, but doesn't close the deal. The item is removed from inventory 'til their session expires. After an allotted amount of time, it's put back in the pool.

- Occasionally people change their orders and/or make an error in ordering. For instance, prints can become unexpectedly available after someone had inadvertently placed duplicate orders. Once the orders are credited, the prints go back into the pool.

I bought a print, and got a confirmation, then I got an email a few hours later telling me that the print was sold out. What's the deal?

As evidenced by our explanation above, managing the inventory is tough balancing act. We work our best tech magic to make sure that things don't oversell, but it will still happen occasionally. Limited editions means we can't produce extra prints, so we send those collectors refunds instead, along with our sincere apologies.

Do prints look exactly like the images we see online?

We work hard to ensure fidelity between the images you see online and our published prints, but the tonal range of paper is often a bit different that what you see on screen depending on the particular image. Additionally we best fit images on standard paper sizes which means that most images will have a white border which might change your perception of the image.

Can I buy 50 prints and resell them in my gallery?

No. We only allow people to buy 3 of the small size of most prints and one of the medium and large sizes. We do this because we want don't want to deny our regular customers chances to buy prints, especially of popular prints. Note some artists prefer we limit sales to 1 per address so this varies per arist.

Can I return a print if I decide I don't like it?

All sales are final, so please consider very carefully before clicking the buy button!

It's Tuesday/Wednesday and there's no new edition online. What's the deal?

Occassionally during holidays we will skip a week between editions, but never fear, we'll be back!
